I have received "house for butterflies". It is adorable, but what do I put inside for the butterflies to "nest" upon? It is just a wooden box with slots. Empty inside....... Want to do the right thing. |
Butterflies will use the house for shelter and, if you're lucky, for hibernation. You don't need to add anything at all to the inside of the house. Place it in a sheltered site, make sure it is near flowering plants, and provide a source of water (birdbath, etc.) If butterflies feel safe in your yard, they'll use the house you've provided. Good luck with your butterfly population! |
