We just had 2 days of heavy rain in our area and I noticed growing in the mulch along the edge of my flower bed is this ugly fungus-it is brown and curly, looks like the edge of lasagne pasta, but is brown in color. Is this harmful?

Fungus grows on mulch occasionally as part of the natural decay process. It tends to appear more often in wet weather and will disappear when conditions no longer favor it or when the material it is located on breaks down sufficiently. It will not harm your plants.
