Are there any natural products that can be put around plants to deter rabbits from eating leavers of flowering plants?

Some gardeners report success using materials such as dried blood meal or predator urine or the commercial sprays formulated as repellents, and home made sprays based on garlic and/or red pepper, or on planting a border of onions or chives to repel rabbits, or of allowing a pet dog or cat to patrol the area. In my experience, though, the best long term solution is a fence.
