I purchased Lavatera Bredon Springs tree mallow this summer. What type of winter protection does this perennial need in this area, if any? |
Actually Lavatera is a biennial, but it often flowers the first year. The plant is not winter-hardy in the Pacific Northwest. You can collect seeds and sow them next spring, or you can try to protect the plant from freezing temperatures so it will bloom one more year. Since it is a biennial, it will die the second year, anyway. (Sorry!) |
