| Here's a little info on corn to help you choose your varieties: There are three classifications of corn: su (normal sugary), se (sugary enhanced) and sh2 (super sweet). This information is listed with the variety name of the corn, such as ?Silver Queen? su. It?s okay to plant se and su varieties near each other. It?s essential when planting to isolate sh2 from su and se by at least 100 feet, or sow them 10 days apart so they will mature at different times. Otherwise, they cross-pollinate to produce tough, starchy kernals in both corns. Varieties with "early" in their names are usually quick to mature. Early Sunglow su matures in 63 days; Early and Often se in 64; Early Choice se in 66. |
