I mulched my flowerbeds w/ "Hershey's COCO MULCH". Now I have a fungus/mold around the base of most of plants, esp since we've had a recent heavy rain. Are my plants OK? Do have to remove all the mulch? Is there a powder I can apply specifically for fungus/molds? Was my choice in mulch wrong? I thank you for time & attention in this matter!

One of the potential drawbacks to cocoa shells is the mold problem in damp weather. You might want to rake it to fluff it and expose more surface area to air and sun so it dries out. Also, use only a shallow layer, no more than two or three inches thick. No matter what type of mulch you use, it should not be in contact with the stems of the plants, allow several inches of breathing space around each plant. It should not hurt your plants as long as they are not touching it.
