Do Gladiolus flowers attracts ants?
I have noticed that when I cut the flowers the buds have ants all over them. After cleaning the ants off them and bringing them inside, I start to find ants in home house in the vicinity of the vase.

Most flowering plants produce a sweet nectar as a reward for visiting insects. It's likely that ants would find this just as attractive. One way to keep from accidentally taking hitchhiking insects into your home is to submerge your cut flower in a bucket of water prior to taking them indoors. This technique eliminates suprise guests for me!
