I planted cannas. do the bulbs come out or do they stay in for winter? take out? thanks JOHN

Cannas need to be lifted and stored indoors in a cool (45 degrees) and dry location for the winter. Dig them in the fall after frost has blackened the foliage. They will be much larger than they were when you planted them, so dig with caution.
