My question is on my poppy plant. How much sun light do they need? I have had this plant for three years and it is not doing well. It grows to about four inches and then it dies out for the summer. It should have purple buds but has never produced any.

Poppies prefer full sun, but they like cooler temperatures. So they do best in spring and will rapidly die when it heats up. Is your plant located so that it gets full sun in the spring, so it can start growing right away? Also, they like regular water. Keep the soil moist when it's growing and layer a couple inches of mulch around it to maintain soil moisture. Hope this info helps!
