There are many systems on the market today. Sometiems the best choice is the system sold locally where you can find spare parts easily. The most efficient in terms of not wasting water apply it directly at ground level. You could opt for soaker hose or a system with individual emitters, or a combination. Using a timer makes it simple to use once the system is installed. Make sure there is a manual override on the timer so that you can fine tune the watering during rainy periods. Also, preparing the soil with ample organic matter and then using a mulch all season will greatly reduce the need for watering.
