How long does it take a plant to produce a ripe pumpkin in Middle Oct. for the St Louis area?

A general guideline for any type of plant is to determine your target date and then subtract the days to maturity for that particular species. Days to maturity for vegetables is included in the catalog descriptions or on the seed pack. For example, Jack Be Little pumpkins take 95 days; Ghost Rider takes 115 days. These are averages and will vary depending on soil conditions, weather, etc.
