| Flowering maple is Abutilon, a robust, mounding shrub with graceful, arching stems. When provided partial sun (or shelter from hot afternoon sun) and rich, well-draining soil, Abutilon will develop into a bushy plant, 8'-10' tall with equal width. It takes well to pruning and can be espaliered along a fenceline. In your situation you can prune the lower branches off to provide the 2'-3' ground clearance you desire. |
