My mother is from Japan and is interested in locating a herb that is indicated on Japanese pickling products as Beafsteak leaves - it is pronounced in Japanese as "sheso no ha". can you assist me with any other more common names or locating seeds, plants???

I found it! It's called Perilla frutescens. You can read more about the plant at
Champaign-Urbana Herb Society
http://www.prairienet.org/herb....

You can order seed from Richter's Herbs online at www.richters.com.

Enjoy!
