Question: Are there more than one cultivar of tricolor beech?

Answer: Yes -- there is Fagus sylvatica 'Purpurea Tricolor', 'Tricolor', and 'Rosea-Marginata', though, according to Michael Dirr's Manual of Woody Landscape Plants, the latter two are often confused.
