I would like to know what does "moderate growth" in terms of inches mean in a year. I recently purchased a Pecos Crape Myrtle and was wondering what does moderate growth mean. It will be facing the west and will recieve full hot sun. Will it burn??

Your Lagerstroemia 'Pecos' is a large shrub at maturity (8' tall, 6' wide) and will take 3-5 years to reach its full size, if growing conditions are suitable. You can keep it trim and attractive by pruning it back 12"-18" each winter. This will help renew the shrub and increase its flowering potential. (Crape myrtles bloom on new wood.) Provide full sunshine and moderate water during the growing season.
