| One section of my yard planted in isotoma ground cover. Doing well last year--this year began developing large yellow/brown spots, with obvious die-back. Overwatering? Underwatering? Snails? Other? Thanks! Ken Rashid |
| Isotoma is Pratia pedunculata, also known as Blue Star Creeper. This plant is native to Australia, grows best in full sunshine, in rich, well-draining soil. It's generally pest and disease free. If the plants are developing yellowing leaves, you may be overwatering, or your soil isn't draining quickly enough. Try applying enough water to thoroughly soak the root area, then allowing the soil to dry out before watering again. I'd be inclined to dig out the sick areas to enable healthier plants to fill in the bare areas. Good luck with your groundcover! |
