A couple of my mums started blooming in late May and early June. I would prefer to hold off the blooming until around August. What can I do to prevent delay my mums bloom time?

To delay blooming, mums are typically pinched back several times (about every two weeks or so) beginning when they are a few inches tall and ending in mid July. This also encourages them to be denser and bushier. You could try trimming them back after they bloom and see if they will rebloom for you this fall.
