Plants growing in containers usually need to be watered more frequently than those growing in the ground. Because of this, nutrients can be leached from the soil quite rapidly. You can feed once a week with a quarter-strength dilution of liquid fertilizer; twice a month with a half-strength dilution, or once a month with a full strength dilution.
