The Q&A Archives: A Shrub Or Plant

Question: I was wondering what a strawberry mousse bachy is? I have one that was given to me and it says its a perienniel? I want to plant it someplace but I do not know where I shoukd put it. Also, how should I take care of it - What kind of soil does it like? Full sun,, shade, or half n half? .

Answer: This is probably Brachycome "Strawberry Mousse" or a form of Swan Rivery Daisy which is a tender perennial but would be grown as an annual. (It is perennial in mild climates but not in areas with cold winters such as yours.) This is a cool season plant that does best when temperatures are below about 75 degrees. It prefers full sun but will tolerate partial shade, especially when temperatures are high. Use a rich soil that drains well so that the soil is moist but never soggy. Allow it to dry very slightly between waterings. If you can get it to survive the summer it should look great again when temperatures cool in the fall.
