Soybeans germinate best when soil temperature is warm (65F-75F) so it's best to wait until late spring or early summer to sow your seeds. Soybeans grow just like bush beans, and will require only 8"-10" inches of soil depth to accommodate the roots. There's still time for your soybeans to fully develop this summer if you sow the seeds right away.
