Any new growth on the tops of my bush beans appears to be eaten. The plants are still alive, but are not bearing any beans. There is a tunnel in a corner of my fenced-in garden. Do moles like to eat just the tops of bean plants? They don't touch my lettuce or tomatoes, although the tomato plants are not as healthy as they usually are. How can I save the bean plants (and tomatoes?) for this year's crop? Thank you. |
A number of animals may be tempted by succulent new growth, but woodchucks and bunnies (and deer) come to mind right away. I would suggest you mend the hole in the fence. |
