Rudbeckia Toto - Knowledgebase Question

I recently was given these plants and I am not sure if it is a perenial or an annual the name of the plants are called rudbeckis toto, they are very pretty and I would like to keep them as a standard in my zone 6 garden. Can you help me to find out more about them?

This plant is technically a perennial variety of Rudbeckia hirta and in warmer zones (eg USDA 8) is winter hardy. However, in cold winter areas such as yours it is treated as an annual. It grows relatively quickly from seed and usually blooms within about ten weeks.
