Tomatoes may fall off the plant if the plant is stressed such as by lack of water (they need evenly moist soil) or transplanting shock, or due to mechanical cause such as an animal stole it or a person accidently bumped it or there was a big wind storm. If the tomato is in good shape and had already begun to color up, then you can set it on the kitchen counter at room temperature out of direct sunlight and it will continue to ripen. If it was still green, you might make fried tomato out of it. Otherwise, toss it in the compost pile and wait for more to form. I apologize for the delay in answering your question.
