I live in Auburn, WA and my backyard receives approximately two hours of sun per day and I am wanting to plant pyramidalis or emerald green arborvitae. Will these plants grow given the amout of sun they get?

In general, arborvitae will tolerate some afternoon shade in the hottest parts of central California, but most do best in full sunshine. Boxwood, Camellia, Enkianthus, Euonymus, holly, Nandina, Pieris, Vaccinium or Viburnum would be better choices for your mostly shady landscape area.
