This is a link of a dwrf Burning Bush off of your site. About how old is this shrub? I have some 18 inch plants I just bought How fast can I expect them to grow?

That photo from the Monrovia site shows a well established plant; note that an unpruned mature plant sizes up in the range of ten feet high and ten feet wide. According to Michael Dirr's Manual of Woody Landscape Plants, this is a "slow" growth rate shrub, which in his terms means 12 inches or less per year. Your plants will grow at a rate reflecting their typical speed as well as the length of time it takes them to become established after planting, the soil fertility and structure, the amount of sun and soil moisture they receive as well as the climate from year to year. Individual plants will also show some variance due to genetics. In my experience, these shrubs might average about 6 inches a year under average conditions. With pampering they might grow a bit faster.
