I have been discovering damage to my lawn lately.Small areas about 4 inches in diameter dug up.I suspect squirrels because my neighbor said he saw squirrels digging on his lawn also.

Squirrels and skunks and other small animals may occasionally dig small holes in the lawn, usually a temporary seasonal thing. You can press the disturbed area back into place to help it heal itself faster. Usually the holes are not of long term significance.
