I am in zone 7. My garden is heavily mulched. How do I add compost so that it reaches all the soil? Thanks, Donna

You could simply pull aside the mulch (it's easier if you use a rake) and then apply up to an inch or so of compost to the soil surface and then replace the mulch. You could also loosen the soil surface and work in the compost lightly. Then replace the mulch. Keep in mind that the mulch layer should only be two to three inches thick.
