Can you start sunflower seeds in a large pot? Under my window is all cement. i thought i might use a pot, how deep does it have to be?

There are many varieties of sunflowers, and the types intended for flower display rather than the very tall huge headed ones would do fine in a very large pot (roughly two gallons or larger) or several together in a half barrel planter. These are annuals that grow bloom and die in one season, so the seed would be planted next spring.
