I just bought a bigleaf hydrangea plant from a local nursery. Can you please give me some advice on caring for this plant and also let me know when it blooms.

Ashley,

Bigleaf hydrangea is a summer blooming plant. It loves a moist but not poorly drained soil with lots of compost mixed in. Select a spot with bright, dappled shade or some early morning sun and afternoon shade for best results. Fertilize it every month to six weeks during the growing season with a product formulated for acid loving plants such as an azalea and camellia fertilizer product, applied at the label rates.

In order to provide you with more information than we can fit in this brief answer, let me refer you to the following web site, which should be very informative and useful to you.
