| I have a Redwood tree that has been planted in the wrong spot. It is now close to seven feet tall and I would like to move it to our summer place 200 miles north. Do I have to wait for the needles to drop? And I don't think I can dig it and move it the same day, what do I do to minimize the shock of transplanting it? Thank You-Jackie |
| Unfortunately, these trees only grow in a very narrow climate range, typically described as zones 7 to 9 in humid areas such as our Pacific Northwest "fogbelt" where winters are mild and summers are cool. Although some trees seem to survive in warmer areas of zone 6, I do not think your tree will survive moved 200 miles north of its current location. |
