Can a Forest Pansy Redbud be successfully grown in a container?

Forest Pansy is Cercis canadensis, the Eastern Redbud. It's the fastest growing of the redbuds, with the potential to reach 25'-35' tall with equal width. For this reason, I'd recommend keeping it in a container for only a short period of time. If the roots are confined for too long, your redbud won't have the reserves to produce its lovely spring flowers.
