| In most instances, killing tree roots will also result in killing the tree or causing significant dieback and decline if enough roots are damaged. Often, removing roots will also be only a temporary measure at best as the tree will rush to replace the missing roots. This is especially true with the maple trees for instance that form troublesome surface roots. Unfortunately, there is no "good" way to do this. If you are struggling to grow lawn beneath such a tree, you might have better success with a groundcover planting instead. I'm sorry I can't be more encouraging. |
