'Canada Red' produces long, thick stalks with a dark red color outside and a lighter interior. It cooks up to a strawberry-red sauce. It tends to be sweeter than other varieties and may require less sugar in cooking.

Prepare the soil for your rhubarb patch by mixing in some organic matter like compost or well-rotted manure. Rhubarb likes full sun though it can tolerate less. Plant in a spot that receives at least 4 hours of direct sun.
