I am having problems with caring for my house plants, fern, ivy, and pepper plants.

The fern and ivy appear to be shedding lots of leaves and the leaves are browning, does this mean that they are dying? And the pepper plant's peppers are falling off.

I am watering them every other day and they are all place in a position where they are near a window, so they are getting some light.

Many Thanks
Tina

Tina,

Overwatering can result in soggy wet soil, which causes root death and symptoms like you described. Make sure your container drains well and allow the growing media to dry out a bit between waterings. In late fall and winter the sunlight is less intensive and temperatures can be cooler in some indoor locations. Those plants will slow growth and need less water and fertilizer.
