| You can grow tomatillos successfully in containers, but they tend to be more viney than tomatoes, so it will need some support and pruning. Because terra cotta is porous, it dries out quickly, so make sure to check soil moisture daily. There are annual and perennial species of tomatillo, so yours might die despite your TLC, just because it's number is up. Both types are grown as annuals, but why not try to keep yours growing, just in case you've got a perennial? To hedge your bet, you might want to save the seeds from a mature fruit and store them away. If your plant is an annual and dies this winter, you can plant the seeds you saved in the spring. |
