Is there any kind of bamboo that will grow at least 12'-15' high, getting only afternoon sun for a couple hours everyday?

The tallest bamboos require the most sunshine - more than just a couple of hours in the afternoon. Bamboos tolerant of shade are generally only 2'-3' high at maturity. If you're looking for a screening type plant tolerant of mostly shady conditions, you may be happier with the bamboo-looking Nandina domestica (heavenly bamboo) or a broadleaf evergreen such as laurel or Pieris.
