Local nurseries to stock only Wisteria Sinensis. Longer flowering of Wisteria Floribunda would seem more desirable. Any problems growing this in southern Nevada?

Wisteria sinensis (Chinese Wisteria) is simply a better performer in the west. It blooms at an earlier age and it blooms in considerable shade. Wisteria floribunda (Japanese Wisteria)blooms over a longer period of time, but the flowers are smaller and therefore do not provide the spectacular show of the Chinese Wisteria. You can grow either plant in southern Nevada. A local nursery can order W. floribunda for you if you'd like to try growing it. Best wishes with your wisteria!
