How do I prune my Star Jasmine? It is outside in a pot and is about 4 years old.

Jasmine should be pinched and pruned throughout the growing season to encourage lots of blooms. You can safely prune your jasmine back now (before the growth spurt in spring) by removing misplaced stems and branches, then nipping back the remaining stems, cutting as much as one-third of the length of each vining stem. Your jasmine should reward you by developing lots of new flowering stems this spring and summer.
