| There are so many suitable viburnums that choosing just one will be a real challenge! You probably want an evergreen rather than a deciduous plant since you're using it for a screening hedge. Viburnum macrocephalum (Chinese Snowball) grows at least 12' tall, has dull green leaves and spectacular flower clusters in the spring. Viburnum pragense (Prague Viburnum) is a fast-growing, rounded plant to 10' tall and broad. It has shiny dark green foliage and faintly fragrant white flowers that open from pink buds in early spring. Viburnum rhytidophyllum (Leatherleaf) is an upright, narrow plant growing 8'-15' tall. The leaves are narrowish, deep green, wrinkled above and hairy beneath. It produces yellowish-white flowers in clusters, turning to scarlet and then black fruit. It's quite striking.
