I'm trying to find the name of a beautiful tree I saw recently. It has green, small leaves and beautiful bunches of small yellow flowers that look like small orchid clusters. I saw it in Napa Valley and it was blooming at the time (mid-April). Hopefully someone will know the name of this beautiful plant. Thanks!

It sounds like Chilopsis linearis, also called Desert Catalpa. It's native to California and grows 15'-30' tall, 10'20' wide. From spring until fall it produces fragrant blossoms with crimped lobes, which look like small cattleya orchids. The white flowers of 'Hope' have pale yellow throats, which may make the flower clusters appear yellow. Hope this information is helpful.
