I recently purchased one of your daylillies labelled Fairy Tale Pink. Although the label says full sun or part shade, I am wondering how the plant would do in a full sun location, here in the hot and humid, sub-tropical south!

Daylilies (Hemerocallis) truly enjoy full sun but will tolerate partial shade. They are grown successfully in full sun in Texas and Florida, for instance. Although they will bloom in less than optimum conditions, you will see the best blooming performance if they are grown in average to rich soil with ample organic matter and ample water (but not soggy) during the growing season. Using several inches of organic mulch such as shredded bark is also helpful in maintaining soil moisture and keeping down weeds, it also slowly feeds the soil when it breaks down. Enjoy your daylily!
