I just bought several cartons of flowers for my garden. This is my first time planting. They came in a plastic container. It's small and is seperated into 6 sections. Do I keep the flowers in this container when I plant yhem or should I remove it and just plant the flower with its soil? |
Sounds as though you've purchased a six-pak of flowers. You'll need to carefully remove the plants from their plastic containers prior to planting. You can do this either by pushing up on the bottom of each cell to release the plant and soil surrounding its roots, or by laying the six-pak on its side and gently tapping the bottom of the six-pak to release all six plants at once. Try to keep as much potting soil as possible around the root mass so as not to damage too many roots in the process. Plant in a prepared planting bed, making sure that the plants are at the same soil level as they were growing in the cells. Gently tamp soil around each plant as you put it in the ground, then water well. Enjoy your new garden! |
