I think you might have a Dracaena fragrans, sometimes called the corn plant. This is a great easy care houseplant. It likes bright light but will tolerate moderate to lower light locations. Average household temperatures are fine, but keep it out of hot or cold drafts. Water it to saturate the soil, allow excess to drain, then allow the soil to dry out a bit before you water it again. Use an all purpose water soluble fertilizer for foliage plants according to the label instructions from spring through fall. If growing in a low light location, fertilize only sparingly as it will grow pretty slowly. Enjoy your plant!
