The typical hand pollination technique is to move a small, soft paintbrush from blossom to blossom touching each one gently as you go. (For a specific cross you would use a specific pair of plants however.)It is a bit tedious if you have a large number of plants and they are outdoors. If, for example, the problem is floating row covers being used for frost protection then these would be removed during the day so that bees have access to the plants, then they would be re-installed at night. |
