There are many potential causes for this plant to lose needles, ranging from an insect or disease problem to over or underwatering. A certain amount of needle drop will also occur naturally as part of the growth cycle. Unfortunately, I am unable to determine the exact problem long distance, so I would suggest you consult with your county extension (473-2540) where they should be able to make a specific diagnosis and make suggestions as to what to do next. Alternatively, you might check with a professionally trained, certified arborist who is familiar with ornamental evergreens.
