Is Lonicera Tatarica An Invasive? - Knowledgebase Question

I just purchased Tatarian Honeysuckle Arnold Red. In doing some research on the web I have found that lonicera tatarica is listed as an exotic invasive in many places. Would I be risking the environment by planting this shrub?

Honeysuckle is a vigorously growing plant and under the right conditions might be considered invasive. However, growing conditions in the Pacific Northwest keep honeysuckle under control. Lonicera tatarica is not on the Oregon State Noxious Weed list, so I think you can plant it with confidence. For more information on Oregon's noxious weeds, visit this website:
