What type of flowering shrub is recomended to plant around a
hydro box which is situated in our front lawn to the left of our front entrance and about three feet away from the sidewalk? We live in Zone 6b. It's a brand new townhouse and we haven't done any landscaping as of yet. Thanking ou in advance.

Since this is a small area and close to the sidewalk you might want to look at plants that stay small naturally. The summer flowering spireas have pink blooms and a variety of foliage colors from green to golden; and another one to consider would be caryopteris or blue-mist shrub with lovely blue flowers over a long period. Both are easy to grow in average or better soil in a full sun location.
