Ornamental grasses are not particularly attractive to insects and are in fact considered relatively pest free. They do not attract bees as a typical flowering plant might. Ticks may harbor in almost any plant however, preferring a moist shady environment. The only problem you might encounter is that you may find the edges of the blades of the grasses a bit sharp if you brush up against them as you walk by them; they also tend to cut your hands while trimming them back each spring so it is a good idea to wear gloves for that job.
