Santalum spicatum, or sandalwood, is often called plum bush or bush plum. To add confusion, Prunus alleghaniensis, with dark purple fruit, an Prunus americana, producing yellow or red fruit, are also commonly referred to as plum bush. The only way to really know is to look at pictures of each of these plants and compare them to what you know the plant you're referring to looks like. Good luck in your search!
