The leaves on my Hostas have wilted after being exposed to a hard frost. Will they come back this summer if I cut them back now or is there another way I can revive them? Thank you for your assistance! |
New leaves will grow from the center of each crown and will eventually replace (and hide) the frost damaged foliage. You can trim away severely damaged portions now if you wish. Watering them during dry spells and maintaining several inches of organic mulch will help them perform well this summer. You may also want to apply a top dressing of compost and/or use a complete granular fertilizer such as 10-10-10 according to the label instructions if you have not already done so this spring. |
